Excessive humidity value in a domestic environment may cause damage to the structure, swelling of the plaster, the appearance of mould and bacteria growth, damage to archives, books, furniture and other objects sensitive to water contained in the air.
There are several potential causes of humidity in the home:
- Construction with low thermal insulation or cracks.
- Poor air exchange
- Using bath/shower without airing.
- Seasonal temperature changes.
- Inadequate air renewal in underground/basement premises.
- Drying laundry in a room.
- Holiday homes by the sea/in the mountains.
Excessive humidity value in a domestic environment may cause damage to the structure, swelling of the plaster, the appearance of mould and bacteria growth, damage to archives, books, furniture and other objects sensitive to water contained in the air. Air with high moisture content is also harmful for breathing, it can cause allergies and asthma from bacteria. The use of a FRAL dehumidifier may allow for keeping the humidity value in the home or in damp rooms under control thus avoiding any ensuing damage. FRAL dehumidifiers can be provided with electrical resistors for supplementary heating.
